NYS Title Only Request Service
Service fee quoted above is in addition to what the NYS DMV charges for this transaction. We will send you an email with instructions after you place your order. Address changes incur an additional $25 fee.
New York State Title Only requests are to be submitted by the new owner of the vehicle only. This service is to transfer ownership of a vehicle you just obtained or have had but have not changed over ownership. This service is also for those who are buying out their leased vehicle and need the title changed or if the vehicle was titled in another state and you are looking to title it in NYS. Included in this service is a title transfer if you are submitting a title not already in your name. It will be sent to the DMV along with your paperwork for processing and transferring to your name. The title will be mailed directly to you from the DMV and will arrive in 4-12 weeks to the address on your registration, but this time can vary. All required documents must be received using the shipping label provided. Once we are in receipt of your documents they will be reviewed for completeness. If all documents required are received, you will receive an email with an invoice for the DMV fees and once those fees are paid, your documents will be submitted for processing. Typical processing times are 1-2 weeks depending on the transaction and DMV processing times but can vary. If there is anything missing or needs correcting, a DMVSTOP agent will reach out to you via email. If documents or payment are not received, they will not be processed.
Required documents:
- NYS Drivers license or 6 points of ID (See ID82 form on DMV Forms Page by clicking here)
- Original Title to the Vehicle or proof of ownership (MCO, transferable registration)
- Bill of Sale
- If purchased from a dealership, please include any other documents they gave you including reassignments, lien releases, affidavits, etc.
If we are unable to process your transaction after a review of your full document packet, a full refund may be provided depending on the circumstances and is at the sole discretion of DMVSTOP. Refunds are not provided if you fail to send us the requested documents, valid insurance, valid driver license images, valid title without alterations or damage, or any other reason that is out of our control including if you request the transaction to be cancelled before or after we are in receipt of your paperwork. A partial service fee credit will be provided if you wish to cancel your transaction and is good up to 1 year from your initial order date. Credit/debit card processing fees are also non-refundable if charged. If a refund is provided, it will be in the form of a check or refund to your credit/debit card or other source if paid using a digital method like venmo, cashapp or zelle. Refunds can take up to 7 business days to show on your account.
All transactions are sent out to DMV on the next business day after receipt of all documents and the title will be mailed to your address on file within 4 to 6 weeks depending on the NYS DMV Title Bureaus volume for that given time period. Although unlikely, it can take as long as 12 weeks or more for a title to be processed and received at your address. We have no control over this time.
By using this service, you agree to pay the convenience fee, depending on what service speed you selected, and additionally you agree to pay the taxes due depending on what amount of money you paid for the vehicle. Furthermore, you also agree to pay the registration fee, which may be less or more than what was quoted. You also certify that you and no one else is filling out this form and requesting this service, and that the license provided, title, and any other pertinent documents not covered by the aforementioned are true and legitimate. Any false or fraudulent statement on this application is illegal and constitutes fraud and is punishable with both civil and criminal penalties. You also understand that we are NOT the DMV but a DMV service and charge a convenience fee for our service.By clicking the "Submit" button, you agree to be bound by the terms of this agreement. There is $50 base fee for all transactions whether successfully processed or not. You also acknowledge that DMVSTOP in no way warrants the paperwork you submit to us for this type of application. We submit the documents as you provide and do not guarantee any results. Additionally, you also agree that DMVSTOP in no way guarantees delivery of your plates, registration document or any other documents for a transaction that you solicited through our website. We use a third party shipping carrier, FedEx, to provide on time and traceable shipments and do our best to communicate with you on confirmed shipping addresses. None of our shipments are sent with signature requirements unless specifically requested and such a request must be approved. In the event your item is lost in transit, DMVSTOP reserves the right to charge you once again for the service in full depending on the circumstances. Some transactions cannot be resubmitted and will require alternative means to resolve. DMVSTOP does not nor does it warrant the delivery services offered by FedEx or any of its subsidiaries or contractors. We do not guarantee delivery of any items.
